The long anticipated release of WordPress 3.0 is now promised for  later in June, 2010; so we are getting very close to final delivery. Hopefully all goes as planned.

The new features are numerous! As a side note for you Thesis users, I've been in the Support Forums for Thesis 1.7 and so far there seem to be no problems using Thesis 1.7 with the new release of WordPress - good news for sure. Now if we could just get a new version of Joomla, life would be sweet indeed.

If you're itching to get under the hood and see what makes this new release special, the current release candidate (RC3) can be downloaded here. SInce RC3 is likely to be the last RC prior to final release, it should be a really good indication of the shipping product.

Keep in mind this is not the final version of the software and this version should only be used for your education and testing. If you download and use the software, it is entirely at your risk - production systems should never be run on software in development unless you are prepared to accept the possible consequences. There may not be any, but on the other hand..........
